《柏林艷史》A Foreign Affair (1948, dir: Billy Wilder)

上年夏天開始嘗試有系統地看電影，當時決定先把Billy Wilder 的電影都在暑假裹看完。結果，意料之外，我的暑假一直放到十二月，Billy Wilder的電影（我順序看）卻只看了他較為前期的作品就停了下來。反而，期間遇上了一個關於電影大師Ingmar Bergman 的programme，下半年不但看了十多套Bergman 的沉重電影，同時也算是加深了對Ingmar Bergman 的認識。Ingmar Bergman 的確很合適「有系統地」Study，因為他的作品較難懂，亦較容易找到文章去剖析他的電影和他本人。反而Billy Wilder 的電影並不難懂，所以很深入地探討他電影的文章也好像較少。有時看了他數部電影後，也找不到一個「研習」的範圍或切入點... 
不過甚麼也不是藉口，今年繼續看Wilder，上年去到維也納（《璇宮艷舞》 The Emperor Waltz，1948 ）便停了下來，今年於柏林再出發。


《柏林艷史》A Foreign Affair (1948, dir: Billy Wilder) 沒有失望，比同年的The Emperor Waltz 好看！
故事大概是女主角美國參議員Phoebe及一班同行到戰後柏林參觀。她發現了美軍在當地有到地下酒吧消遣，其中一個當紅歌女Erika不但曾與納粹德軍有千絲萬縷的關係，現在更謠傳被一美軍包養、保護。為了追查真相，Phoebe與在當地認識的一名英俊風流美軍隊長Johnny 追查究竟Erika 背後的男人是誰，誰料到Johnny 正是那背後的男人，Johnny 唯有用盡渾身解數以防自己及他的愛人Erika 的關係被揭發...

電影由兩位女主明星珍亞瑟（Jean Arthur)及瑪蓮德烈治(Marlene Dietrich) 擔大旗。Marlene 是Billy Wilder 的愛將，我很喜歡的Wilder 作品《雄才偉略》Witness for the Prosecution（1957) 裹 Marlene 也有非常精神的演出。而Jean Arthur 是荷里活有名的喜劇女星，兩種不同的戲路放在同一部電影中，結果效果出來有點像半套Screwball Comedy Crossover 半套Film Noir，二人各有千秋，當一開始覺得瑪蓮德烈治很搶戲很「艷麗」很誘人時，Jean Arthur去到中後段越來越好睇，竟變得惹笑起來，同樣搶眼，平分秋色。最想像不到的是，拍攝時她們二人原來已經都47歲，看電影時完全看不出來！

想著想著，這套A Foreign Affair 真的像是一套Screwball Comedy 及Film Noir 的混合體。男主角Johnny 是駐守戰後柏林的軍人，女主角Phoebe 是從美國來參觀柏林的參議員。二人某程度上也是在不同的Social Class，而且男主角是個風流男子，女主角幾乎未談過戀愛，這種男女角之間的差別是Screwball Comedy 中常見的設定。這些設定下鬧出的愛情笑話，透過Wilder 及Charles Brackett 精闢的對白及設計令其更加好看。其中有場特別深刻的是Johnny 與Phoebe 二人在檔案室找尋Erika 的檔案，為了保護Erika，Johnny 反客為主，突然向Phoebe 示愛，Phoebe 嚇得一邊避，一邊打開旁邊的檔案一邊往後退，場面富有幽默感之餘，又顯出二人對戀愛的態度。不特止，電影後段Wilder 還作出了一次呼應，不過二人掉轉身，Phoebe 向Johnny 進逼，檔案櫃換成夜店櫈子再玩一遍，抵死有趣！

而另一方面，Marlene 飾演的柏林歌女Erika 正正是一個典型的Femme Fatale。她美艷，男人看到她都神魂顛倒，看看每逢她一在酒吧唱歌，那些美國士兵多陶醉； 她誘人，不論Johnny 冒著甚麼危險，都是中了咒一樣，誓要保護這個女人。Erika 卻不相信任何真愛，只要有男性，她就可以從他們身上拿多少好處，由小至一張床褥，到免被拘查的特權，都沒有難度。這位Femme Fatale 把電影加多一層觀感，很多觀點很多問題都可以從這個角色中帶出。如果沒有這個Femme Fatale 的出現，好可能故事只是說一個天真的女參議員如何相遇及戀上「置身另一個世界」的男軍官，設定可能會有點像Wilder 前作《大人與小孩》A Major and a Minor。現在有了Marlene 的角色，感覺上是令Wilder 及Charles Brackett 的創作更進一步。

此片跟《德國零年》Germany Year Zero (1948, dir: Roberto Rosellini) 一樣，是最早到戰後柏林取景的電影之一。兩部拍出完全不一樣的故事，但都是佳作。事實上，Billy Wilder 的很多廠景跟實景的配合都非常出色，甚至有時我都分辨不到哪個是在加洲片廠裹拍的。他鏡頭下的柏林雖然飽受戰火催殘，但仍不算很悲觀，反而有種從新開始的感覺，可能是和電影的調子有關吧。不過畢竟他的鏡頭都是著眼於當地的美國（軍）人而非德國平民，所以可以作reference 的其實不多。廠景又是出色，有些我甚至懷疑攝製隊是不是真的走進當時柏林的民居拍攝，每一道破門破牆到爛傢俱爛床爛枱都一絲不苟，不是。

他的調度亦很有心思，Cap 了數張圖，有的是從破門中男主角偷看女主角在大門如何應付突然到訪的士兵，有的是透過鏡子的看男主角跟兩位女主角的關係，都是精彩。

《一個複雜故事》A Complicated Story (2014, dir: 周冠威)

其實看電影前都懷疑自己會否因認識朋友有份參與製作、又或是因這是套「學生作品」，而對電影或多或少加些印象分。看完才發覺自己的想法有點多餘，《一個複雜故事》無論作為「學生作品」或純粹以一部香港電影來看，都是一部好電影。我喜歡朱芷瑩飾演的女主角，即使要和一眾知名演員／好戲之人做對手戲，仍不被任何對手比下去。女主角每個情感上的處理、每個動作都散發住氣質。不論是她一開始有點猶疑，到做了決定之後的堅持；她對哥哥的那份真情； 她由代母轉變為母親的那份堅強；她到公園午睡的優悠； 她遇到困難時的徬徨，三次出走倔強；到一個小小的「真相大白」和她的讀白而帶出她的自主性，都令我她影響，被她的那份性格感動。


故事的複雜性，我認為不是在於人物的多與少，亦不是在於一個個曲拆離奇的情節，而是每次情節上的改變後，每個角色關係都隨之而變動。不同的人物及情節固然好看，亦很有效果，但令我可以思考，可以不停回味的是他們之間的關係、他們的變化，真的很複雜，不簡單！
最深刻的一場莫過於區律師送雅子到她家樓下那一幕，我心裹不禁說了句：「嘩！真係好複雜！」那一刻，不只是畫面上取得到效果，區律師與雅子之間不再是一位律師與客人，不再是朋友關係，那種關係上的扭轉很妙。即使那幕沒份的郁彰、Tracy、甚至女主角男朋友都被扯進了另一層新的關係圖上，各人往後要如何走下去，他們怎樣面對大家？下次任何兩個角色再碰面，雙方身份都再不同了。他們會說甚麼話，他們想的是甚麼？好像只有劉雅子，越來越堅定地，去走她所選的路。


題外話，Deanie 姐飾演的Gipsy 雖然出場很少，但卻在短短數分鐘令我想像到她背後也有一個複雜故事，如果可以看多一點Deanie 姐的故事就好了。


還有，數款海報之中，我最喜歡這張。

第十位不知為何很難選，最後從Gravity、Cloud Atlas、Side Effects、毒戰、激戰等等電影中選了Before Midnight。
今年亦錯過了不少很想看或評價很高的電影，例如Blue Jasmine, 爸媽不在家、東京家族、Amour、After Lucia、Rush、Snowpiercer、狂舞派，等等。如果看了這堆戲，我相信上面的十大將會不同。

上年(2013)看過很多太經典，太厲害的電影作品。要選十套出來實在很殘忍，所以這個「我最喜歡的十套非2013年上映電影（重看的不計）」可謂一次嚴選，每一套都是我個人的心水，愛好，以致就算是一些大師級的作品亦要被foul (有點唔好意思）。
